Dr Gideon HO
Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
An A*STAR National Science Scholar (Fellowship), Gideon has been involved in bio-imaging research, commercial development and corporate management. In 2010, Gideon co-founded HistoIndex as a spin-off from the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), to develop and commercialise the world’s first fully automated, quantitative, stain-free imaging system and gain a first-mover advantage in global healthcare markets. Under his direction as the CEO, the laser-based stain-free imaging system was successfully implemented in academic, clinical and pharmaceutical research in major universities, hospitals and contract reference facilities around the world.


Dr Dean TAI
Co-founder & Chief Scientific Officer (CSO)
As the CSO of HistoIndex, Dean is responsible for the strategic product development and worldwide research collaboration. Together with his HistoIndex co-founder, Dr. Gideon Ho, Dean has successfully launched the company’s platform technology in multiple global clinical studies. He has established multi-centre clinical trials with key opinion leaders, and successfully coordinated clinical validation worldwide using HistoIndex’s proprietary imaging and analysis technology .


Mr Paddy LIANG
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Paddy oversees the strategic direction in the company’s global operations and leads the overall production and implementation of the platform technology. Since joining HistoIndex in 2013, Paddy has streamlined the manufacturing process, optimising the workflow across departments including Engineering, Supplier Management and Environment, Health and Safety (EHS).


Dr Teng Xiao
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Teng Xiao received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Since joining HistoIndex in 2013, Teng Xiao has designed and developed core image processing and machine learning (ML) algorithms for the company’s proprietary software technology.


Elaine Chng
PhD
Associate Director, Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Services
Elaine oversees wide-ranging applications of Histoindex’s proprietary AI-based digital pathology platform in clinical trials and studies. She works closely with key opinion leaders to advance validation and adoption of the company’s innovative tissue analysis solutions to advocate for the company’s AI-powered platforms utilisation in FDA trials. Elaine holds a PhD in Biological Chemistry from Nanyang Technological University. Her doctoral research investigated nanomaterial safety and applications. Combining scientific excellence with cross-functional leadership, Elaine excels at managing complex projects to deliver impactful outcomes.


Serene Lek
Associate Director, Industry Partnership
Serene leads strategic partnership initiatives at Histoindex by driving industry collaborations to incorporate HistoIndex’s technology in clinical trials and studies, across NASH and fibrotic diseases including oncology. Previously, Serene founded and led Clinnovate Health as CEO, a contract research and health innovation organization offering histopathology and genomic services. Before founding Clinnovate Health, Serene had experience in venture capital and private equity in healthcare investment funds and portfolio management in oncology applications. She leverages her passion and prior extensive experience in medtech commercialization to establish impactful and high-value collaborations with clinicians and biopharmaceutical companies.


Yukti Choudhury
PhD
Associate Director, Clinical Diagnostics
Yukti provides strategic oversight and leads implementation of Histoindex’s proprietary platforms into clinical diagnostics and routine patient care. At Histoindex, Yukti works closely with hospital labs to clinically validate and obtain reimbursement coverage for lab-developed tests developed on the company’s digital pathology platform. Previously, Yukti served as Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Lucence Diagnostics, directing design and validation of ultra-sensitive oncology tests. She led teams to clinically deploy proprietary laboratory-developed tests and achieve CLIA certification and CAP accreditation for the labs. She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the National University of Singapore. With her blend of R&D excellence and commercialization experience, Yukti excels at advancing novel platforms like Histoindex’s into clinical practice.


Anthony Lie
Head of Business Development
Anthony is a clinical research expert leading business development at Histoindex. He heads commercial execution of industry-sponsored clinical trials for the company, overseeing programs from initiation to successful completion. With over 10 years of experience across pharmaceutical, medtech, and CROs, Anthony has deep expertise across the entire drug development value chain. He has worked in clinical affairs and project management roles at organizations like Biosensors, Covance, and Pfizer. Anthony’s specialty is optimizing development programs from both clinical and business perspectives. He excels in implementing practical solutions that ensure delivery of high-quality trials and research studies.
